Athy Chamber

Following a successful Annual General Meeting held in the Clanard Court Hotel, on Tuesday the 21st April, 2009, Athy Chamber have reelected Paul Cunningham as President and Kathleen Cash was reelected as Vice President.

Athy Chamber is an organisation of business people working together, committed to promoting the economic prosperity of business and industry in Athy and the South Kildare area. We are determined to unlock the potential of Athy and its hinterland, to unlock the strengths of the business community.

Athy Chamber have prepared a detailed Operating Plan, May 2009 to May, 2001 covering 20 realistic aims which can and should be achieved during the next two years. Athy Chamber is holding an open meeting on Monday the 25th May, 2009 in Clanard Hotel at 9 p.m. and will be formally inviting all candidates in the forthcoming elections to attend our meeting and respond and comment on the Operating Plan. of Athy Chamber, May 2009 to May, 2011.

The population of Athy has risen with recent increases in commercial and residential developments to a figure in excess of 10,000 persons. This increasing population presents many opportunities and highlights the need for the residential and business community to combine their resources for the benefit of all. Irrespective of the present economic downturn if we all come together with the aim of supporting each other, our businesses and our town we can prosper and develop towards resurgence.
