National Ploughing Championships Window Sparkle
Last Updated: 15 Aug 2009
Athy Chamber is pleased to announce our third “Windows Sparkle” competition to coincide with the forthcoming National Ploughing Competition. Athy Chamber asks all the businesses in the town to decorate their shop windows with a National Ploughing Competition themes.
The aim behind our successful competition is keep positive and to promote, advertise and show off our town and our businesses. Each year the town of Athy hosts many festivals and this year Athy Chamber decided that a simple way to keep positive and to promote our town and our businesses is for all our businesses to decorate our shop windows and to hang flags representing each of our 4 major festivals (Tri Athy, Kildare County Show, National Ploughing Championships and the Shacleton Autumn School ). Flags of the National Ploughing Association are presently being made and will be distributed during the coming weeks. The flags and windows add colour and atmosphere to our town and demonstrate to the town and our visitors that the town is full of regular events and prove its attractiveness to all.
There is no entry fee for the competition just prizes for the best windows. Each winner received a gift from a local craftsman The winners of the last Windows Sparkle competition held to coincide with the Kildare County Show were Clancy’s Bar, Essence Boutique and the St. Vincent de Paul shop on William Street.
Each of the festivals held in beautiful vibrant town prove to ourselves and our visitors that Athy is an untapped jewel which must be visited, discovered and exploited.
