Shop Local, 2009

You will recall that Athy Chamber, last Christmas and previously, encouraged all to shop locally during the Christmas 2008 season and thereafter. This support must be encouraged throughout the year and thereafter. We repeat our call and simply encourage our businesses and townspeople to shop locally.
Our town contains businesses which are the rival of businesses outside our town boundaries. No interest group should support exporting business outside the boundaries of our town where that business can be sourced from businesses within our town. As a result our website is promoted and produced by a local business, and all prizes presented in our various sponsored programmes are made by local artists. No one business or concern is exclusively promoted by Athy Chamber because we simply say that by suporting our town and our businesses we will all proaper. We support all our businesses and insist that all our businesses are supported by our town and our businesses. it is unaceptable if any local business grouping does not suuport local business. and we cannot and will not support any business group that promotes and supports businesses outside our town when there are similar busnesses within our town.
